Venue: Malin Bridge tram stop
Facilitators: Anne Grange and Kate Walsh
Join us for a magical walk along the Rivelin River and discover Sheffield's hidden history, as well as the wildlife on the outskirts of the city.
We'll focus on plant identification, pointing out various different plants that might have useful medicinal and culinary properties, and take moments to reflect on the industry of the past, the mystery of the ruins they left, and how this can spark our imagination.
At the end of the walk, we'll stop for refreshments at the Rivelin Cafe to do some writing and thinking about our shared journey.
Your workshop leaders are Anne Grange, a local novelist, poet and editor, who has lived in Sheffield since 1995 and has a deep love of nature and the environment, and Kath Walsh, a local environmental activist and foraging expert who runs many outdoor workshops in and around Sheffield.
Please wear sturdy footwear and dress for the weather. Bring a notebook, pen and a bag or container for a few leaves to take home to put on your sandwich or make into a fresh herbal tea!
